Parlez-nous de vous. Tell us about yourself.

I was born and grew up in Reunion Island. When I was 18, I left to attend the University of Lorraine to continue my studies in geography. There, I also passed my examination to be a primary school teacher. After five years, I returned to my island.

What do you like about New Orleans?

It is a city where the architecture is magnificent. Moreover, it is a very lively place.

What subject do you like to teach the most?

History and geography because I love to share my passion.

Tell us something a child or student has said that stayed with you over the years.

During my first year as a teacher, a 4th grade pupil who was usually very shy told me, “I have never liked reading but since meeting you, I’ve read a book every week.” I was touched because I realized the importance that I have in the lives of some of the children.
