Born and raised in France (Lyon area), Riviere has been living in the US (Los Angeles) since 2012. He holds a Masters of Science in Biology, from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Concordia University (Montreal) and an Engineering degree in Agronomy and Environmental Science from Montpellier SupAgro. He also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana University Bloomington and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education program at Johns Hopkins University, School of Education. He specializes in cognitive sciences applied to education and his dissertation/thesis focuses on the teaching and learning of epistemology of science in high school.
Riviere taught Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre (Biology-Geology) as a certified teacher for almost 15 years from grades 6 to 12 in France and in the US. Riviere was Head of Department and pedagogical coordinator and leads training workshops for teachers on cognitive sciences applied to teaching and learning in partnership with the AEFE and the Mission Laïque Française.
Faith Moses is the new Director of Exceptional Student Services at Lycée Français. Faith believes that all students deserve an engaging student-centered education and strives to support teachers in building empowering and effective classrooms for all types of learners.
Faith moved to New Orleans in 2018 with Teach for America where she was selected from over 45,000 applicants to teach in Title 1 public schools. During her time as a Teach for America Corps member, Faith discovered her passion and love for education and a desire to ensure that all students receive a unique and high-quality education.
Prior to this role at Lycée Français, Faith worked at Langston Hughes Academy as a Middle School Special Educator and the Special Education Department Chair. As a teacher, Faith led her regional school network in performance each year and continually fostered growth and a love of learning in her students For the 2020-2021 academic year, Faith was awarded Special Education Teacher of the Year. During her tenure as department chair, she developed strong compliance systems to ensure students receive a high quality education. Faith supported teachers of all experience levels through virtual and in-person instruction and developed a culturally responsive curriculum across several grade levels.
Faith holds a Level 1 Teaching Certification from the State of Louisiana in Middle Grades English Instruction, Mild to Moderate Special Education Instruction, and Reading Intervention, a Masters of Science in Education with a focus on Special Education and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors of Arts in History from Brown University.
Mitchell is a former band director who has many awards and accomplishments including Teacher of the Year (with the plaque to prove it). With more than 17 years of educational experience, Mitchell has worked in every facet of school operations. A married father of one, Mitchell is a graduate of McMain Magnet and is a budding mixologist, average chef and above average DJ.
Originally from a small French-speaking town in Louisiana, French is not Pontiff's first language. Pontiff is thrilled to be able to share it and speak it with the students, staff, and parents at Lycée. Hunter studied French throughout elementary and high school, then did immersion in Nova Scotia, before earning a degree in French from LSU. His studies in linguistics then took him to Montréal, Québec for two years before continuing them as a PhD student at Tulane. He worked for 5 years in Jefferson Parish in a French immersion school as the ELA teacher, Testing Coordinator, and Teacher Leader Fellow before coming to LFNO in 2020, where he was first an ESS co-teacher and now the Interim Supervisor of Data & Assessment. Hunter is a firm believer in the immersion process, and adores sharing his passion for languages!
