Our Program

In France, École Maternelles are similar to our American preschools. These schools focus on early learning for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Kindergarten.

École Élémentaires are French primary schools encompassing grades 1-3 in the American system.

After grade 3, students enter Collège - the first years of secondary education before entering Lycée.

Lycée covers the remainder of students' education experience and is equivalent to American high schools. Lycée includes grades 10-12 of the American education system.

Cycle 1 (Apprentissages Premiers) covers the pre-primary years and the early years of primary school. These years include:

• Petite Section (Pre-K3)
• Moyenne Section (Pre-K4)
• Grande Section (Kindergarten)

Cycle 2 (Apprentissages Fondamentaux) covers three years of École Primaire. These years include:

• Cours Préparatoire
• Cours Élémentaire 1
• Cours Élémentaire 2

Cycle 3 is Consolidation Cycle that serves as the bridge between École Élémentaire and Collège. These years include:

• Cours Moyen 1
• Cours Moyen 2
• Sixième (6e)

Cycle 4 is Approfondissement, which translates to further studies. These years include:

• Cinquième (5e)
• Quatrième (4e)
• Troisième (3e)

Lycée is the final stage of the American K-12 education and includes: 

• Seconde
• Première
• Terminale
