Calling all Parents!!! Consider Running for the PTO Board—APRIL 25 DEADLINE
Are you interested in getting more involved at Lycée? Would you like to help build community and raise money to support your child’s school? If so, please consider running for La Liaison’s board of directors for the 2017–18 school year. Board membership is open to any parent or guardian at Lycée. The board of directors serves from June–June, overseeing the PTO for the summer before and through the academic year. Officers attend monthly board meetings and quarterly general meetings. They coordinate and implement a variety of community-building and fundraising events throughout the year.
The Nomination Process
If you are interested running for the board, please write a brief bio (250 words maximum), indicating the position you are interested in. You will be receiving more information from your room parents. Send your bio to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for nominations is April 25—the day of the next general meeting of the PTO. Candidates are encouraged to speak briefly at the meeting about why they would like to serve on the board. If a nominee cannot attend the meeting, his/her bio/questionnaire will be read to the meeting attendees. Nominations will also be allowed that evening.

Help Lycée Français make our goal while cleaning out your closet and reducing your carbon footprint!
By recycling laser cartridges and other small electronics, Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans will become one step closer to our goal of $5,000.00 to purchase new technologies for your child’s school!
We have had a lot of success using Funding Factory to keep electronic equipment out of the environment and also to help fundraise for the school, but a great way to expand this effort would be to help us get businesses involved. Please ask a business that you are familiar with (possibly your workplace or a business you frequent often or have a relationship with) if they currently recycle old electronics and printer cartridges. If they do not, sign them up for Funding Factory! It’s very easy to do – they will be able to order supplies such as labels and boxes, and simply send off their recycles directly from the business.
For a direct link to Lycee’s specific fundraising site, go to www.fundingfactory.com/goal/techforlycee.
From this site you will be able to order labels and track our goal.
Community members and local businesses are asked to donate their empty laser cartridges in the marked collection bins located under the staircase next to the office.
About Funding Factory: Since its inception in 1997, FundingFactory has provided $31 million in funding to more than 50,000 schools and nonprofit organizations across the United States, and saved 39 million pounds of waste from landfills. FundingFactory is a free recycling fundraiser for schools, nonprofits, and charities. Participating organizations can earn points redeemable for cash or products by recycling used inkjet and toner cartridges, cell phones, and small electronics collected from their communities and supporters.
