Privacy Policy

In June 2014, the Louisiana legislature passed legislation, Act 837, which provides for limitations and prohibitions on the collection and sharing of student information. Additionally, the legislature passed Act 677, which requires that the Louisiana Department of Education and local education agencies (LEAs) publish information on their websites about the sharing of students’ personally identifiable information (PII). The law defines PII as information about an individual that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single individual.

Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans shares PII with the following external entities. In accordance with Act 677, data sharing agreements with the below entities are available for parent and public review.

Entity: OneApp (link to agreement)
Profile: Application system that facilitates enrollment in New Orleans.
Data Elements Shared: Student directory information.
Intended Use: OneApp stores student information to track student enrollment.

Entity: EAGLE (link to addendum)
Profile: Online assessment tool that supports formative assessment in the classroom and provides Louisiana teachers the ability to build online tests, assign them to students, and receive student and class performance reports on items aligned to state adopted standards.
Data Elements Shared: Student directory information.
Intended Use: Information is shared with EAGLE to track student assessment data.

Entity: DIBELS (link to addendum)
Profile: The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of procedures and measures for assessing the acquisition of early literacy skills from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Data Elements Shared: Student directory information.
Intended Use: Information is shared with DIBELS to track student assessment data.

Entity: Pearson (link to agreement)
Profile: Internal student information system.
Data Elements Shared: Student directory information, medical records.
Intended Use: Information is shared with Pearson PowerSchool to track student contact information, medical alerts and attendance.

Entity: SchoolAdmin (link to agreement)
Profile: Online registration platform

Intended Use: Student information is loaded into SchoolAdmin to facilitate online registration.

Entity: SchoolMessenger (formerly SchoolReach) (link to agreement)
Profile: School notification system.
Data Elements Shared: Student directory information.
Intended Use: Student contact information is shared with SchoolMessenger so that Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans may notify families with time-sensitive alerts.

Profile: Data Recognition Corporation is the Louisiana Department of Education’s chosen vendor for student statewide standardized assessment.

Entity: Hammond’s Transportation (link to agreement)
Profile: Hammond’s Transportation is the bus transportation vendor for Lycée students of Orleans parish.

Additionally, the State of Louisiana may transfer personally identifiable students information. More information can be found here.

Act 480 of the 2016 Legislation Session requires Type 2 Charter Schools to enter into MOUs with the school districts in whose geographic boundaries their students reside. These MOUs should be limited to the specific purpose of exchanging student information necessary to verify student enrollment and residency status for funding.
